Terms & Conditions
By submitting an online application form you hereby agree to the terms and conditions detailed on this page.
1. Payment & Booking
1.1 Once your application has been provisionally accepted by World TEFL Association (WTA) you will be asked to pay a fee, which is non refundable as you will have received instant access to our online TEFL course, materials and certification. This fee is paid to the TEFL training center to reserve your course placement and goes towards your total course fees.
1.2 If for any reason you decide to cancel your place on a course after you have made your deposit or balance payment, WTA cannot provide any refunds as we will have already incurred costs in arranging your placement and we may have already refused other applicants. We will however hold your payment in reserve for up to 18 months if you need to cancel for any reason and join a course at a later date. You may also transfer your deposit to a friend/partner as long as they meet our enrollment criteria.
1.3 The deposit can be used as part payment for any course on any date, subject to the availability of places. Applications cannot be transferred or deferred within 30 days of the start of a course that the applicant has agreed to attend. Most training centers will request the balance fees to be paid 4 weeks in advance of the course start date.
1.4 We have never canceled a course due to lack of numbers however, If for any reason a course has to be canceled for any reason we can offer you the following options.
a) A place on an alternative course date and/or location.
b) A full refund of your fees.
1.5 You are requested NOT to book flights or make any travel arrangements until you have received a second written confirmation of your placement from the host school director or authorised staff. (You will receive this second confirmation within 7 days of making your deposit payment)
1.6 TAT will not be held responsible for compensating or reimbursing any travel or accommodation costs, including flights and all other related, and non related expenses, under any circumstances whatsoever.
1.7 All students are subject to the disciplinary regulations of the training center. The course director's decision is final. No refund will be issued to any student who is expelled from a TEFL course/program under any circumstances whatsoever.
1.8 Base rate is in GBP£ and we are not liable for any variation in exchange rates.
1.9 TAT will not be held responsible for compensating or reimbursing any part of the program package if that item becomes unavailable, or is withdrawn without notice, under any circumstances whatsoever.

2.4 Travel insurance is NOT included in the program fees. You are responsible for arranging adequate insurance cover for the duration of your trip.
2.5 Some privately run TEFL courses are accredited by Cambridge CELTA or Trinity College and are promoted by the World TEFL Association in good faith. The World TEFL Association is not accredited or approved by these organisations as our legal entity is the TEFL 'Association' and not the TEFL course provider. All TEFL training centers are usually privately owned regardless of what body they are accredited by.
3. Job Placements
3.1 All WTA approved TEFL certificates are accepted throughout the world by reputable organisations who employ English Language teachers. This means that you will most likely secure a teaching job before, or shortly after, you complete your TEFL course.
3.2 Please remember that all job offers you see advertised online are subject to an interview by the prospective employer. Due to the high number of sub standard applications ESL employers now receive by email we strongly recommend that you call first to arrange a meeting, rather than applying by email, to be sure of securing an interview.
3.3 To date, we have not had one single course graduate wanting to teach, who has failed to secure a teaching position overseas. However, due to the many dynamics involved in the job recruitment and selection process we are unable to offer a refund of the deposit or course fees to any graduate who is unable to secure any teaching placement under any circumstances whatsoever.
4. Non BA Degree Candidates
4.1 If you do not have a BA degree, you may still join our TEFL programs. Once you complete your TEFL course, we provide you with the contact details of the top teaching organisations around the world. Virtually all our non degree graduates, who wanted to find work, were successful in finding paid employment overseas.
5. Privacy Policy
5.1 We will never disclose your personal details to any third party other than the senior staff at your chosen TEFL training center. Every email you receive from us will have a secure opt out link at the bottom of each mail.
Acceptance of Terms
6.1 By submitting an online application for one of our TEFL programs, you hereby agree and accept these terms and conditions (1-7). If you do not wish to accept these terms, you should not apply. These terms are non negotiable.
